For this week’s classmate conversation, I had the pleasure of meeting Julia Hodgdon! Julia is nineteen years old and resides in the Pasadena area. She is attending CSULB as a second year and is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She isn’t sure what she wants to do in the future yet, but knows that she wants to work with pediatrics or gerontology. She wants to work in either a prison setting, as a counselor, or owe her own private practice. She mentioned that her mother is a prison social worker. For fun Julia likes to search for new music to enjoy, hang out with her friends, go on adventures, go to concerts, and eat! Her favorite food is pizza since it’s always perfect for any occasion.
For the question of the week, “Compare your definition of ‘Art’ 13 weeks ago, and your definition of ‘Art’ today,” Julia answered that she used to think art was just paintings and pictures. She defines art today as anything with creativity and meaning displayed through a visual or something that is able to project what you are trying to explain. I totally agree with her because through this art class I learned that there a lot more outlets of art than I used to believe. It was really great meeting Julia and I hope you all have the chance to meet her too!
